Approachable classics by Belarusian baritone

Bass-baritone from Belarus Niko Znahar with accompaniment by pianist and accordionist Ivan Filipchyk had introduced their program "Classics to Enjoy”, that includes iconic operas, well-known and universally loved Russian and Italian art songs, Broadway and movie masterpieces. This program was recently introduced at the National Opera Center America in New York and has been already successfully performed in Miami, Moscow, and Nevada.

“I started to explore classical music at the age of 16 inspired by Dmitry Hvorostovsky. During the years opera became deeply entrenched in my life, sometimes including writing my own songs, doing rock music, and electronics. All these things had given me an understanding of my unique way of performing classics - classical crossover. I want to make classical music more clear and fun to the people, more approachable to a wider audience. Therefore, such elements of the show as a charismatic artistic presentation, unique costumes, a bright repertoire and communication with the audience are important to me”, - says Niko Znahar.

This is the main point… to make classics much more close to the people. It was a full house. I was blessed to have all those people here in the audience. Specially and friends, new friends, people whom I see for the first time”,- says Niko.

“It’s our first big performance. Well, I enjoyed the process of performance and of course the rehearsals. A lot of work but paid off in the science of satisfaction. It’s a new experience. I didn’t get to a company much. It opened so many new perspectives to me”, - says Ivan.

The audience reviews:

“It was a very interesting interpretation of classical music. We really liked the playlist”

“The hall was full of people. There were not enough seats. People don’t wanna go home. It feels like Saturday”.

“They worked really hard. They have put all of their souls into this concert”

“It was unusual and shaking at the same time. I like the way he approached the people from the back. His charisma, eyes…”

“The acoustic and the music were amazing”

“I suggest everyone go and enjoy opera in a new version”
